This original lithograph was created by Marc Chagall in 1960 for an exhibition celebrating his stained glass windows at the Cathedral in Metz. The show featured ceramics, prints and sculpture at the Musée des Beaux Arts in Reims, France. This is an original stone lithograph with text which was printed at the Atelier Mourlot.

Founded in Paris in 1852, Atelier Mourlot has been synonymous with fine art lithography for over 150 years. From 1930, under the direction of the founder’s grandson, Fernand Mourlot, leading artists were invited to the studio to collaborate on traditional limestone lithography. For painters like Chagall, the medium provided an exciting new form of expression.
