This vivid vintage Fernand Leger Louis Carre lithograph was executed in six colours for the Fernand Léger exhibition at Galerie Louis Carre. This is the ORIGINAL edition printed by Mourlot in 1953. Léger was a draftsman, illustrator, printmaker, stage designer, filmmaker, and ceramicist. In his early works, he created a personal form of Cubism, which he gradually modified into a more figurative, populist style. His bold simplified treatment of modern subject matter has caused him to be regarded as a forerunner of pop art. His mature work underwent many changes, from his Cubist-derived abstraction in the 1910s to distinctive realist imagery in the 1950s.
Each individual work of art comes with a Certificate of Provenance, signed, dated, stamped, and numbered by Eric Mourlot. Stored in a clear protective sleeve accompanying your piece, this Certificate of Provenance is recognized by all the major auction houses should you care to resell at any point. This ensures the validity of its origin and its being in the Mourlot archives since its production.
